I have a lot of love for The Doctor’s control over himself, but even more love for when it slips.
Because Nine had himself on a reckless sort of lockdown, but the more time he spent with Rose, the more he let his more forceful side show.
Ten loved having fun and taking his companions to gorgeous places, but if something he cared for was threatened, it was like a switch was flicked and suddenly he truly was the most terrifying being in the universe.
And Eleven is silly and bumbling around in a way that suggests he has no idea what’s going on, but then bam he does something so out of character that for a moment you realise that you had forgotten he was over a thousand years old and has old eyes.
The Doctor has old eyes that have witnessed genocide, that have committed genocide. He’s seen whole civilizations collapse before him. He has loved and had children and he had to kill them. He killed his own people.
But all of that is sort of forgotten the moment he winks and smiles and whisks another person away to see the stars.
Also, Sherlock and John were on the cover of Summer Falls by Amelia Williams in The Bells of St. John. Just to the right on the book’s cover.
If Steven Moffat fucks up the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who, I’m going to use his blood to open a door to hell and throw him in the Cage with Lucifer.

I have this complex with the Ponds and their lives. As a viewer, we really only see them with The Doctor. But that isn’t them. Not really. That is an alternate them that we have accepted because it is the majority of what we know.
Amy and Rory Pond in reality are not adventure having superheroes.
She is a model. People take her photo and little girls come up to her in shops. And Rory is a nurse. He works in a hospital doing the best he can trying to heal others.
And they fight. They fight and grow distant and Amy has a copy of the same divorce papers that Rory has.
And then The Doctor swoops in and whisks them away and suddenly they are not those people. They are companions and on a space ship or chasing after their daughter when she runs away or they are any number of things throughout time.
But that isn’t them because when they gets home there are still the cameras and the patients and the possibility of divorce papers.
Even when they are sent back by the angel.
